Alan Marks
I’m a successful, highly regarded real estate Broker with more than 30 years of experience. My knowledge of all aspects of the real estate industry, marketing and technology skills, along with my excellent negotiation skills make me the only choice for your transaction. Licensed as both a REALTOR® and Broker, I consistently maintain my status as a top-producing agent in the East Bay of San Francisco.
I have a significant amount of repeat business and referrals from satisfied clients as they are pleased with my consistent ability to guide transactions through the listing, marketing, and escrow periods with the highest degree of professionalism. My clients benefit from my knowledge of all areas of the real estate industry. It is my goal to be “hands-on”, accessible to my clients, and to handle the inevitable issues that arise in most transactions quickly, efficiently, and with complete attention to the details that are most important to buyers and sellers.
I endeavor to combine professionalism and knowledge with genuine caring and sensitivity to the needs of all that I encounter. Some of my past clients have described me as “an exceptional REALTOR® and Broker”…”extremely knowledgeable and professional”…”always available to provide sound, honest, and immediate advice.”
I’ve been involved in land, apartment and home development, new home construction, renovation, asset management, and residential and commercial sales with a volume in excess of $2 billion. My portfolio of homes purchased and sold include some of the highest priced homes in Lamorinda.
Prior to my residential real estate brokerage career, I held corporate real estate executive positions with companies such as Balcor/American Express and Castle & Cooke. My wife Ellie and I, along with our children, relocated to Northern California from our hometown of Chicago. With our three children now grown, Ellie and I now spend our time with Murphy, our English Cream Golden Retreiver, and our grandchildren. Having also lived in Orinda, Lafayette, and Moraga, I am an expert in each area - and neighboring communities (public and private schools, churches and synagogues, doctors, commute, etc.) which is beneficial to my clients.
I’m also very committed to being an active and positive member of the community. I volunteer at many of the local schools and in various charitable organizations. I’m an avid cyclist and enjoy participating in many charity rides. For the past 12 years, I have been on the Board of Directors for the California Brain Tumor Association (CABTA).
